My favorite racing club has always had its ebb’s and flow’s. It’s always been a feeder system providing the greatest race car drivers of all time. The landscape and destination’s have changed too. Since the Outlaws put forth the propaganda of the Greatest Show On Dirt, they’ve become the most popular form of Sprint Car racing. Hell, kids growing like Pursley probably never even saw Hewitt or Shuman, Vogler, not to mention the giant’s of racing. But they did see Schatz and were exposed to the propaganda machine, and therefore it’s not unreasonable to see a younger crop of racer’s aspiring to be an Outlaw, and now also maybe a High Roller. I thought I would miss Big Daddy and Sunshine, turns out I really didn’t. My biggest disappointment with the current turnover is not getting to see what Daison could do running all 3 divisions for a couple years. Brady has already accomplished a ton in USAC. So good luck to them both, we’ll be watching. Meanwhile USAC might have a down year or two, but it’ll come back, always does
