Lincoln Speedway POWRi Midget Speedweek Event Canceled Due to Extreme Temps
(Lincoln, IL) Extreme temperatures with the real feel expectancy into the 100’s have forced the cancelation of the final night of Illinois POWRi Midget Speedweek. The event was scheduled for Sunday, June 16 at Lincoln Speedway, in Lincoln, IL.
In addition to Midgets, DIRTcar Pro Late Models, Modifieds, and Pro Mods were scheduled to race. For the POWRi Midgets, it was scheduled to be the fourth and final race of the 2024 Speedweek.
Speedway and Series officials felt it was in the best interest of all involved to cancel the event on what could possibly end up being hottest day of the year.
Lincoln Speedway is in the midst of a busy part of their schedule. Up next will be the DIRTcar Summer National event on Sunday, June 23, featuring Super Late Models and Modifieds.
Lincoln Speedway also has races on July 5 (Triple 30’s), July 8 (Castrol FloRacing Night), and July 12 (305 Sprints) before shutting down for the Logan County fair break.
For the POWRi Midgets, their next races will be at the Independence Celebration at Lake Ozark Speedway on July 5/6.
