18 cars at Bakersfield, and the previous USAC/CRA race at Perris a couple of weeks before that, drew 17. I had planned, and looked forward to, taking in the two-day show at Santa Maria, CA on July 5-6. I would be taking my RV, which is an 1100 mile round trip from Mesa, AZ. Unfortunately, it no longer makes sense to make that run in order to watch 2 heats and a feature each night, not to mention 4th of July traffic in both directions. Hopefully they will draw more cars, and I wish them success. I loved that track when I lived in So. Cal.
