Yes, but not a lot of jockeying for position amongst the top 6 or so except for the problem Cummins had which dropped him out of the top ten. There was very little passing in the heats. It was still good racing but even a couple of drivers made comments that the track was juiced making it difficult to pass. It was also very un-Kokomo in that the top never came in. As I said it was still entertaining, just making an observation.
