Having attended the closest public school to IMS, it was standard practice for drivers to visit my school (Ernie Pyle School #90) every spring.
and it made me a life time fan (well, that and a huge race track on the western edge of my neighborhood)
Dan Gurney and Sam Sessions spoke to my class in 1969 on the importance of seat belts!
RIP Mrs. Trissler, what a great teacher (2nd grade!)
