Do yourself a huge favor. Get on Ebay and buy a copy of Allan Brown's History of the American Speedway you won't regret it. There are many others in Indiana not listed there was Walnut Gardens, Carey's Ranch, a different State Fair track, .....they are all there with brief history.
I hate to tell you but his but I have every printed copy of that book “History Of America’s Speedways” and I’ve meet Alan in person. I loved the National Speedway Directory they made. If you know me by how I have posted here on IOW then you know I’m a diehard race fan.
In my open opinion that is one of the best Motorsports books ever made and printed. The history of racing in North America to me is truly a fascinating one. From board tracks to the high banks to the flat tracks to the small figure 8 tracks like the Indianapolis Speedrome.
