IT IS JACK HEWITT NIGHT/CAMFIELD MEMORIAL RACE DAY AT MACON SPEEDWAY!
Tonight rounds out a daily double of fantastic open wheel racing action, led off by the 59th Bettenhausen 100 for the USAC Silver Crown Champ Cars at the Illinois State Fair Springfield Mile. After that many fans and drivers will make the short trek east/southeast for a fantastic night of midget racing at a track originally built for the division.
On this night our grand marshall is a name that is no stranger to Springfield or Macon in Jack Hewitt. Hewitt is a two-time champion of the USAC Silver Crown Series, 4 time Bettenhasen 100 winner as well as a former titlist of the FloRacing All-Star Circuit of Champions. In addition, Hewitt was the 1998 winner of the Eldora 4-Crown Nationals, winning features in USAC Sprints, Midgets, and Silver Crown as well as the UMP Modifieds. Hewitt is also famous for a heated post incident interview where he gave his thoughts on the flagman, officials and authority, and what they could kiss when it came to his anatomy.
The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will be competing in the Camfield Memorial while the POWRi Micros will race in the Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum 20. The BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Mods, and Hornets are scheduled to race.
