To give some feedback Phil. I have ran both with and without wings at Lawrenceburg this year and I don't believe the mini sprint wing breaks the line of sight between the driver and the flagman any more so than a non wing car. I think that the reason we are seeing more false starts and jumps than in years past is because the driver's start mindset is backwards.
Usually you focus on the polesitter, and keep the flagman in your peripheral vision. It is much easier to remain in formation waiting for the green because the focus is on the other cars and when they fire.
With the new rule you focus on the flagman a couple hundred feet away and therefore it is harder to remain in a good 2 by 2 formation and take off in sync with the rest of the field.
And on another note I would love to run a non wing mini sprint race over at Lawrenceburg. Those indoor races over at Duquoin two winters ago were a blast to run, we had to get up on the wheel and drive those cars, although the place was so small we couldn't really stretch the car's legs. At funfest last year the 600 non wing cars put on one of the best races there, and I believe that the 1000s will allow for more passing, slidejobs, and two grooved racing. It would be something different.
