Dave Darland had just won his heat and ended up stopped on the track afterwards, between turns 3 and 4. He got out of his car and one of his lower legs was on fire. It was burning pretty well, too. He dropped and rolled on the track, but it kept burning. Next, here comes Shane Cottle. He dives onto Dave's burning leg and basically smothers the fire with the chest of his driver's suit. It was an incredible act of unselfishness and bravery. Dave appeared in a Twitter post later helping get the car ready for the feature, so he seems to be alright. But it could have been a whole lot worse.
And Cottle's currently leading his midget heat, so it looks like he's alright, too.
