Gillstrap, Wilkerson and a couple others could top Dick some nights, Them Some nights were few and far between as when Gaines was on, He was on a Gaines Cruise to victory. Keep in mind the fast qualifiers started at the tail most of his career.
Only got to see about six years of him racing, But sideburns below the helmet and shoulders sticking out the sides of the car is what I remember most.
