Do you remember the start of racing season?
Do you remember all those race cancelations?
Do you remember empty grandstands with competitors and teams only with limited numbers?
Do you remember saying “Just let us race? I will do whatever needs done, just let these tracks open up? I miss my dirt track racing”?
The continuation of this race season is not in the hands of mother nature, drivers, car owners, or even the promoters. Do you realize that responsibility is now in the hands of each and every fan?
Wait! What?
Yes, that responsibility is in your hands. The state instituted the state-wide mask mandate and the Board of Health is now the enforcement arm of that. The Board of Health has influence over permits that tracks are required to have. These are not rules that the track’s created to annoy, frustrate, or inconvenience you. However, they are rules that we are required to advise you of and do our best to enforce for racing season to continue.
• Wear a face covering (mask or face shield). If you have a medical condition that falls into the exemption category, simply advise the track staff member that is inquiring about politely that you fall into the exception category.
• Be patient and courteous when the staff member inquires. You may be asked by several staff members or even additional times by the same staff member. Sometimes, we see so many of you that we simply don’t recall having already spoken with you.
• Wash those hands and use the hand sanitizer.
• Please social distance from those that are not in your household.
• Please do not tear down or deface the face covering and social distancing signs that must be put in place.

Let’s all just do our part to help the 2020 race season get to run to its completion. Thank you for your cooperation and for your support of Indiana Dirt Track racing.
