Went to this race last year and it was a dandy, at least the Allstars were. The non wing cars only showed up with like 13 entrants and if memory serves the only drama that provided was how soon Big Daddy would get the lead and by how much he would win. Meanwhile the wings put on a good show with Dave Blaney coming from like 20th to 2nd. It’s going to be even that much better with the USAC National Midgets on the bill, and with no Powri race scheduled till Sunday, I would think the field will be stout. Of course the Allstars are co-sanctioned with the IRA so the sprint car field will be deep as well. If you’ve never been to the dirt track at Joliet, I would say this would be a great time to go.
