For drivers and crews the 3 day break is truly needed.
Having crewed on a car during NARC SprintWeek during the early and mid 90's, I can personally attest that ANY sprint week is murder on the crew... but, somehow, it all gets done...as long as there are no major crashes or blow ups....7races at 6 different tracks in 7 days....some as far as 200 miles apart....Sleep - well, that was pretty much optional ....
But you're so glad when it's all over....and one team I was on even won a NARC sprintweek championship!
