Wow, what a season; great memories! Back then we still had live races on ESPN, an awesome slate of races on pavement, and an extremely stout contingent from Cali. On the downside, USAC still ran non-qualifier races- yuck.

Unbelievably, somehow I didn't make it to the Terre Haute National Open. I sure hope I was doing something just as worthwhile that weekend! Anyone have any anedotes from that event? What led to it's demise? I'm pretty sure it was a one and done event, but looking at the results, you wouldn't have thought it to be.
