Traxxas cars is expected as over 40 pre-entries have been filed for the event with many past winners entered in the field. Heavy rains Thursday night plus some Friday showers have the Springfield Mile locked and loaded for a shot at breaking the Silver Crown track record in qualifications for the 57th edition of The Bettenhausen 100. What does this chapter in the history books have in store? Do we add a new winner to the prestigious list of some of the best racers ever to pursue their craft? Also on tap is the heat races for the 25th Annual Illinois Sportsman Nationals for the DIRTcar UMP Sportsman. Jeremy Nichols seeks a 6th consecutive win in the event while 2 other 5 time winners in Wes O'Dell and Dennis Vandermeersch seek to win their sixth and stop the streak along with a host of others as there are over 20 pre-entered drivers.
