Why not an Aluminum 355? I believe the aluminum block would help as far as repairs go, but the horse is out of the barn. Everyone has the steel block and for the mosy part, it isn't the cost of the block or motor for that matter that is holding teams from the track. Energy costs are going to make many teams pick and choose where and when they race because it is hard to put together a purse that makes it beneficial for teams from all over to go to all of the races. That and many of the owners are still stinging from a few years ago and it will take some time to win them back.
Problem with a 410 motor is the amount of fuel you would use on the miles and the speed would be somewhat greater. They are already running fast enough as it is and fuel milage is tight as well.
I don't see how the racing would be better.
Most teams have the motors gone through between each race. As the other poster mentioned; the motors(Sprint/Silver Crown) are built differently because it is different racing.
