Or like us as a low budget team you need a week to regroup, save money and fix the things wrong with your one car.

Running the 30+ races we will this season is not possible without a lot of money out of our own pockets. Running races where placing from 10th on back means you lose money in the deal just to get the car to the track only goes so far. As I have calculated it, it costs us about $500 (and that's re-using tires that you probably shouldn't) to show up and unload at any one race.

Sponsorship is always appreciated but realistically is almost non-existent in non-wing sprint car racing today. Keep in mind, I can come up with less than 15 non-wing sprint car drivers that don't have other 40+ hour jobs they work through the week. So when fans see 40+ cars show up for a race I would hope they have some appreciation for the efforts and money teams are going through to try and give them a good show.

I'm not sure the words "scares them off" is right, but it does not make financial sense to race every weekend possible for us low budget guys and promoters are busy trying to make sure their big money race doesn't overlap someone else. Which means about every week there is a "big money" to win race or two. Understand why the promoters do it, but I doubt every race will get 30+ racers with so many available and so little money paid from 10th back.

The very real possibility of losing $200 to $400 a week is simply not that attractive for us to bust our butts and try to make every big race out there that pays "big money" to win.

On the positive side....there are some like the BOSS series that typically try to do more for the low budget teams and the non-winning teams that keeps us coming back.

Just my opinion...don't know if everyone looks at it the same as I do or not.
