Shane raced his modified all over western Ohio and eastern Indiana. He was a frequent competitor at tracks like Eldora, Waynesfield, Montpelier, Lima, and Lawrenceburg in addition to some late model races in the Ferguson owned car he was driving last night. Good guy that made the best of the equipment he had.
The tragic accident last night is another reminder of the importance of safety equipment. The car did not have a window net or containment seat. Even with those safety devices in place any drivers side wall impact can have devastating consequences. He will be missed and I know the support of all of our racing community is behind his family and friends. RIP Shane.
