We have enough classes of cars that feed the 410 guys. Every weekend we compete against ourselves to get people in the seats. I made an argument long ago with Mr.Helmling that we did not need a ford focus series, we already had Kenyon cars, but he was being pushed by ford I would imagine.
The mini sprints are a great place to learn and you can race affordably to some degree. I had a blast last summer driving for Mike Buschmann with the 600 class up at Peru. it was only one time, but I could tell that this was a great class.
Frankly we have diluted the market. If we continue to add different series of open wheel cars, we could put ourselves out of business to some degree. Oh, BTW when these lower cost series die, you as an owner, could end up with a boat anchor.
Let's not forget we compete with other summer entertainment... Locally for me there are special events downtown in Indy, organized baseball, soccer, family gatherings, football in late summer, etc. And, in some cases on a Saturday night, it's easier and cheaper to stay home when NASCAR is running. Yea, I know Yuk, but you gottta admit this $4.00 a gallon for gas is affecting everyone. Hell, I just traded in my 2000 chevy pick up in for a Saturn VUE. Good grief what am I turning into... oh yea, I'm living within our means, while we deal with this economic problem.
I could go on, but hopefully I made my point.
