That was a great race for 24 3/4 laps. Critter Malone drove his ass off! He withstood a barrage of aggression from three of the best sprint car drivers around, in Chase Stockon, Brady Short and Kyle Cummins. Especially from Stockon. Chase threw the kitchen sink at him and Critter withstood the pressure and had a perfect counter every time. Then came the white flag lap. The lead pack was bunched up was they passed the flagstand. Everybody in the place knew Chase was going to throw one last shot at Critter and he did, going into turn two. As he tried to make it stick he got into the soft stuff a little and Malone escaped and had clear sailing to the checker. But then, in turn four, just as this one was getting to reach it's conclusion, a lapped car bounced off of the wall, right into the leaders path and he had no choice but to hit the brakes and stop, to avoid plowing into Rogers. So the yellow came out. I can only imagine how heartbreaking this must have been to Critter Malone, who had driven a masterpiece and in the bat of an eye, that was all gone. As a fan, I felt like they had thrown the yellow on a great race, just so someone could come over and punch me in the stomach, right before I left. It was such a letdown. So, on the restart Malone had to go to the tail and they threw the green and white at the same time. Brady made a last move for Chase in two and Chase escaped and headed to take the checker. Then as Short came from turn four to the line Kyle ripped the runner up spot away from him. The track was great, as usual. There was great racing throughout. There was just a big wet blanket thrown on the whole thing at the end, taking away what would have been a very popular and hard earned victory.
