Mr Miller, Mr Smith and Mr McCord what does the lack of interest in this thread say about the Sliver Crown Division?

I made an observation over the weekend about some threads from the weekend, Joliet Sprint/Midget Doubleheader Cancelled had 420 hits and 5 post, Briscoe 1st had 788 hits and 12 post, Kokomo Updates had 1,817 hits and 17 post and Ballou during the Anthem at Bloomington had 6,498 hits and 69 post. This thread only had 387 hits and 3 post, not much interest in what was USAC's premier racing division.

What does the lack of interest in this thread mean for car count at Richmond? I have heard rumors you expect 30 to 50 Sliver Crown Cars at Richmond. This thread does not indicate that kind of support by the teams or fans.

IMO I do not see 50 car owners out there ready to step up to spend $5000.00 to $6000.00 to get their car to the track for the purse structure associated with this race. Where did I come up with the $5000.00 to $6000.00 figure from? All USAC car owners and drivers must be USAC members, a cost of close to $1000, race registration $125, pit passes, 2 sets of tires, fuel for race car, diesel fuel for the hauler, hotel rooms and food. Most car owners will leave this race at least $3000.00 or more in the hole.

The USAC powers to be may say the car owners and teams were to busy preparing for the PA swing to respond to this thread. I will give you that one however, the fans of the racers always know what they are up to, the fans have not jumped on here showing any interest either.
