Basically.....USAC is seemingly one of the few sponsorships that they have broken ties with. The Lucas family is heavily involved in the city of Indianapolis and auto racing but are not involved with the racing organization that has been here since 1955. One they once sponsored and the one that immediately found a competitor of theirs to replace them after they parted ways.
Never say never but that bridge may have been significantly damaged in that fire.
By all means, be honest. I have my own opinions as to why they left, I read all about it then and, although I was overseas at the time with the military, I still had contact with plenty of people and I don't think Lucas was the problem.
That being said, I know where you're coming from, totally understand, and do I think Lucas Oil will ever return as a sponsor, most likely not.
But if someone like Lucas Oil were to return as the title sponsor, with their capabilities, would it be great? Hell yes it would
