Listed below is the rules for the Midwest Lightning Midget Series for this year. If you do not see an engine listed below and it is 2.4L and below that you would like to run with the series please send me a PM on here or on our Facebook Page.
Rules
Lightning Sprints/TQs/Kenyon Midgets
Up to 1400cc engines allowed. All brands and years allowed
Can be gasoline or methanol fuel (no additives allowed)
Chain or shaft drive
Open tire rule right rear up to 13 inch diameter (for motorcycle engine cars)
Minimum weight is 850 pounds
Automotive Engines
Allowed Engines
GM Ecotec 2.4L (LE5), or 2.2L (L61)
Honda 2.4 L (K24A1)
Chrysler World Engine 2.4L
Toyota 2.4L (2AZ-FE)
Ford/Mazda Duratec 2.3L (23 I-4/L3)
GM Quad 4 2.3L and 2.4L
Ford 2.0L Focus/Scream Pre-2004
2.4L engines and below not listed above needs to be approved to series officials prior to racing.
The USAC Honda HDP cars and Ford Focus cars are legal to run.
Weight 1100 pounds
Tires 10 inch rims 12 inch right rear (Automotive Midgets)
Fuel gasoline or methanol allowed (no additives allowed)
All rules are subject to being changed by series officials to allow competitive and safe racing.
We are also in the works with an engine builder who is going to offer both race ready engines and kits to build your own engines. Once I have all the details from the engine builder they will be posted on here and our Facebook and Web Site.
If there is other engine builders wanting to offer engines or engine kits to teams in the series please send me a PM. We want to have lots of options for the drivers to pick from.
