A few years ago I worked at a track that ran crate lm for a year. It was on a 1/2 mile track and they averaged around 20 cars a week because of a very generous sponsor bought or supplied the engines at a very low cost.
It was the most boring racing I have seen in 50 years of going to the races. It was follow the leader around the bottom; and the only few passes were when someone missed the turn or someone bumped their way through.
The other issue is teching the engines and the seals. What started happening in the lm was drivers started spending more on shocks etc.
Hope things works, but I have my doubts based on what I seen for one year in lm.
