Montpelier does allow USAC & POWRi "national" engines, but they have to weigh 1050 lbs (which is the weight for USAC and I believe POWRi) ; at Montpelier an Ecotec-powered car has no minimum weight. Motorcycle-powered cars also have no weight limit and can run 12" right rear wheel.
National motors are verboten in D-II but oddly, all shaft-driven cars have to weigh 1125 lbs, 75 lbs heavier than a national Midget. That may be a tough weight for a short-wheelbase TQ-based chassis to meet without some lead or a really bountiful Holiday season for the driver.
