I agree that anything can happen anywhere at anytime but I've not been to many other tracks that I've felt that a car hitting the fence would come through it, into the stands. Kokomo, Gas City, Burg, Even Brownstown would in most cases keep a car from landing in the stands.
I've seen two cars hang on the fence at Bloomington. But sitting high, I feel relatively safe I seen a car with the old fence at Eldora land on the flat outside the fence in turn four. I even seen a car find the one gap in the fence at the old burg to land near the pit table I also seen Gordon a rookie at 13 go flying off three and through he pits at the old burg at probably 70mph.
That fence at TCRP is garden fence post a strong man could bend, Like I said, I seen a hornet go through it like it didn''t exist. Didn't even slow it down and I went to two sprint races there after that.
I know racers know the dangers any time they get in a car. Fans should be reasonably safe IMHO even though it's never 100%
Go, Have fun, I'll pray for saftey and would probably be there if I could. Just wish someone would even in incriments improve the catch fence.
