AMSOIL Hosts Sprint Car Open House Followed by an Evening of Great Racing

Ed Newman |Aug 6, 2015 2:54:00 PM

Tomorrow night the nation’s premier non-wing sprint car series will be the main attraction at AMSOIL Speedway. The AMSOIL National Sprint Car series will start its Wisconsin swing on Friday, with a trio of events that are expected to be pivotal in the 2015 championship battle.

AMSOIL, which has been the title sponsor of the USAC-sanctioned series since 2010, will play host to some of the top racers in open-wheel sprint car racing on Friday afternoon. Top drivers, including Chase Stockon, Chad Boespflug and Kevin Thomas, Jr., will attend a public open house at the AMSOIL Center in Superior, Wis. from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Kat Country 98.9 will be on-site doing a live broadcast, as well.

“AMSOIL Sprint Cars are an unbelievable mix of horsepower and finesse,” said Jeremy Meyer, AMSOIL race program manager. “We are excited to have the best sprint car racers in the business in our backyard, and to have several of our supported teams doing a meet-and-greet with our employees and race fans.”

There's a reason these cars are so fun to watch. Weighing only 1,400 pounds, AMSOIL Sprint Cars push more than 900 horsepower through their 410 cubic-inch engines and can reach speeds well over 100 mph. USAC sanctions more than 300 events per year in sprint car racing, and some of the top names in motorsports started their careers with USAC.

Stockton is right in the mix for the 2015 championship, sitting in second behind Robert Ballou and just ahead of Dave Darland. Racing starts at AMSOIL Speedway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with hot laps starting at 6:30. For more information, go to www.amsoilspeedway.com.
