There is always a lot of discussion on this forum about the health of the sport we love. Last night there were 6 tracks and over 140 sprint cars racing within a 3 hour drive of Indianapolis. In addition, there were several drivers not racing last night due to either car issues or they were in Belleville, the car count could have been even higher. Not sure that makes a definitive statement on the health of the sport here in its Heartland but it is a positive.

There is also a lot of talk about tracks competing with each other. Last night car counts were low at a couple of tracks but sounds like all in all some good racing occurred. The good news, a lot of folks got to see sprint cars. Die hard fans like many on this site will drive hundreds of miles round trip to watch sprints. Average fans will not so I consider it a positive that 6 tracks hosted sprints and local fans got to watch. Yes, I like to see strong car counts and get disappointed when some of the big names are at another track but it's good "to share the love".
