Their was only 12 cars running at 75 laps. He probably lost $200.00 on his bet He was driving a USAC Honda Midget.

What I learned at Kitley tonight:

1. Pavement cars work a lot better on pavement than a Combo or Dirt car.

2. The little Honda seems to be a pretty good race motor>>But I think a good Echotec or 1000cc Mini sprint could out run it. Somehow they must have figured out some way to add2 more cylinders to it because they sound like an old Dodge Cummings Pick Up truck on the track.

3.If Kitley would come up with a stock block class like D II Midgets and found a tire that did not cost $175.00 each they could pull off a weekly race for Midgets. The guaranteed purse for this race was $1000.00 to start. $700.00 to $900.00 for tires and $150.00 for fuel for the race car makes that a break even deal. Now if it was $1000.00 for first it wouldn't take long to go in the hole.

4. Twin 60 lap races with the option for any or all of the front 3 runners to start on the tail would be more realistic for a racer to bet on.

5. The crowd wasn't like it was back in the 70's and 90's but a decent crowd. Hope they do it again next year. Also ticket prices are like gear ratios I think they might have been geared just a tad high. Maybe fewer VIP seats and more and cheaper general admissions.
