there is some construction at Mt. Vernon, il at the I64-I57 split. Also construction starting near the Okawville exit. If it looks like traffic is getting bogged down u can jump off and go south to Rt. 15. It's 2 lane until you get close to Belleville but will take you right behind the fairgrounds. Last time i was that way was a few weeks ago on a Sunday and traffic wasn't bad. The message boards seem to stay pretty current to the traffic conditions so if you see one that warns of stopped traffic you may want to consider jumping off.
