Does anyone know what the frequency is that there are actually races held there anymore? Now I do not know the statistics of that question at this time, but if I were a betting man I would bet my life's savings that if more shows were to be scheduled there, they probably wouldn't even be considering the demolition of the track as it would no longer be to them just a money pit to maintain, but an actual profitable asset. Same with almost any type of venue, once the facility that said venue is/was held at becomes more of an expenditure than something that will at least break even most will begin to look for other ways to use the space that is being occupied. Now while I agree with all that this is a terrible shame, I would rather see sanctioning bodies working to try to schedule more shows there and actually put the track back to use again and start generating revenue than just see a petition for it to not be torn down and then it just sit there unused. If the demolition is blocked by this petition then that's a good thing, but if the track just sits there empty, then the issue is likely to just come back up at the soonest possible time. Not to mention that she sounds like she's never even attended a race in her lifetime(she's not enlightened like the rest of us).
