This is pretty funny. I would like to know which USAC official walks into the gate at the beginning of the race and walks out of the gate at the end of the night with a $0 paycheck for his efforts? It's a play day after all. I think USAC should set everyone's salary back to $0, and be happy just for being alive!!
And some people can afford to tour with USAC, but others decide we have more fun at the casinos, horse racing, on our boats, or the OTHER OPTIONS that we Owners have in life. We are not always broke, we have CHOICES.
As you stated in your post, "some can and choose to spend their moneys elsewhere and thats fine also". Where in Kevin's original e-mail does he state that he CANNOT AFFORD the extra fees for entry fees? What I read is that he is choosing to spend his money elsewhere. Plain and simple. Many owners are making that choice.
If you don't believe it, do some research to find out the decline in USAC's revenues and membership fees year-over-year. It's has been declining every year. As a non-profit, USAC's tax records are public information. It's not hard to find them.
