I seriously doubt there is ANY other racing sanction that takes better care of their racers than USAC did then.

Don Townsand died during hotlaps for the USAC race in turn three at Mansfield in 2005.
Ask his widow how many USAC officials were at the funreal.........NONE
I was there paying my respects to my friend and a long time racer and kept looking around trying to find a single USAC employee and not a seeing a single one there. Don did not run many USAC races focusing mostly on wing pavement stuff but most years he ran the Little 500 and 1-2 USAC shows. He was a USAC drop in but paid the fees like everyone else and all they could do was send a card and some flowers and not a represinitve.
Do you have to run a full season for them to respect you after giving your life at their event?
Several times in this thread people have stated how many USAC enployees there are however everytime one gets let go there is a huge uprising and everyone is pissed off at USAC.........You can either have dozens of employees or lay-offs.....which one do you want?
