I must say that it is amazing how people will bash and give partial facts.
A pit pass at Brownstown is always $35, but usac worked a deal to get members in for a reduced price.
When the locals run at Bloomington, Gas City, ect.. is'nt a pit pass $25 ? Then they run for $1200 to win and like $100 to start. When usac races at these same joints members pay $25 and non-members pay $30. Then they race for a $20,000 purse vs the weekly purse of $6500.
What did a pitpass cost to run the $3000 to win at Bloomington?
Do you have to be a member of mscs to race, how much is that?
How much would a pitpass cost at a local show if the purse was $20,000, buy simple math if its $25 for $6500, would it be $80 for $20,000?
Who gets the pitpass money ( for those of you that do not know THE PROMOTER DOES)?
So we are down to a $30 fee to race with a club that has 325% bigger purse!
I would bet the promoters are hoping that a "boycot" of usac is successful, then they will not have to compete with usac and can run races all year for $6500 ( they do raise them once in a while when usac is close, huh, when the crowd is smaller and there bigger local guys run with usac they can afford to raise the purse).
usac charges a fee for officials, how many they have, and what they pay is not of concern in regards to the price of a pitpass or non member fee.The promoter pays for the officials not the competitor.
Be careful what you wish for and who you follow because your wish may come true. If usac was to close shop then all the best will be in your back yard each week! Then the locals will be running in the b-main.
How many local tracks have an ambulance that can transport. how many have a paramedic? Be careful of your answer?
From a fans stand point I am behind you 100%. I would love to see all the big guns each week at the local tracks for a discount price!!
