Perris Auto Speedway has not had a single PPV in the 2014 season. In fact, in the last two years, I believe we have only had two. Both of those were last year.

The plan was to have the Oval Nationals on PPV. However, as it turned out there was a glitch regarding the 100-black out radius which we have had for our previous PPV events. The company could have not told us about it and just went on, but they were completely honest in explaining the situation. We had to pull the plug as in the past (with a different company), we had locals say they stayed home and watched the event.

It comes down to dollars and cents. Not only with the locals within in the hundred mile range, but with others who decide to stay home say within a 500 mile range who would normally be there. Say a fan who was going to come to the race and buy a ticket for $30.00 instead decides to stay home and get the PPV. The promoter loses (different promoters and companies probably different deals) approximately $20.00. If that fan was going to bring his/her significant other, they would be purchasing $60.00 in tickets. If they instead get the PPV, the promoter loses around $50.00.

Some fans (not only with PPV'S but regular sports events that stream for free from other parts of the country or the world and on regular TV as well) have viewing parties with others coming over to watch on the big screen. Say we are talking fans from Fresno which is 250 or so miles away and they have eight people over who would normally come to the race and buy tickets that would total out at $240.00. The promoter would lose approximately $230.00.

It is just a business decision on what the promoter feels he needs to do for his business.
