Something that is not usually the case for me but I am truly fighting for words right now. Tracks, Fans and Teams brought us many friends in Indiana but I truly believe there would be less life long friends if it not for Bill and IOW. And, perhaps there has never been a site in racing where so many friends and foes have been able to express themselves when they couldn't/wouldn't do it in person.

I had the distinct privilege of meeting Bill and getting to know him during our stay in Indiana. What is not known to anyone is the talks Bill and I would have on here or in person when controversy surrounded our Team. His advice always made me feel better and deal with things better every time. Although he guarded us against personal attacks, he did allow everyone on this site to have their opinions about us and all drivers, whether we liked it or not.

Although IOW will be a big part of his legacy, the fight and the ass whooping he gave cancer so many times is truly inspirational for all of us and will be his legacy. He was such a good man.

I'm really sad today at hearing this news. Thank you Bill for all you did for everyone but especially what you did for this group of Yankees from New York. I will not forget you good friend. Your fight here on Earth is over and please; Rest in Peace. See you on the "Other Side".

Your buddy,

Pete
