Our experience at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds is you pull in and park near an electric hookup of your liking West of the livestock barns and the fairgrounds security people (or whatever they may call themselves) will come around sometime either the evening of the race or relatively early the morning after.
The last time we camped on the fairgrounds in Terre Haute we were there for the Hulman Classic on our way to Indy for the 500. The fairgrounds people came around the morning after the race and charged us $20 for the one night of camping. I would question the person collecting the money just a bit to make sure they're authorized to collect. I say that because we've had people come around, not at Wabash Valley but in a similar situation, to collect money for camping and they weren't authorized to do so. Just a word to the wise.
