It's raceday at Grundy County Speedway featuring the King of the Wing Sprint Car Shoot Out and the STARS National Midgets. Gates open at 4pm. Qualifying at 4:40pm. Racing starts at 5:45pm.
Tonight's story lines:
*Jojo Helberg has won the first two rounds of the King of the Wing Sprint Car Shoot Out, and four races in a row overall. Can he complete the sweep? Troy DeCaire has finished 2nd in both of the King of the Wing races. Can he break through for that elusive win?
*Jojo Helberg goes into tonight's finale of the Midwest swing of the King of the Wing with a 4-point lead over second place Troy DeCaire in the King of the Wing points. Davey Hamilton, Jr. is lurking in 3rd place in the standings. Who will be able to take home the coveted title of "Midwest King of the Wing."
*Three generations of Hamiltons will be competing against each other in a sprint car tonight. This is a feat that has never been accomplished in series such as NASCAR, Indy Car, or Formula One.
*This is the first winged sprint car race at Grundy County since 2002 when Ron Koehler took the checkered flag.
*Will there be a new feature winner in the STARS National Midgets tonight? Austin Prock took home the first two races of the season while Travis Young was able to collect the most recent first place trophy two weeks ago.
