Openwheel44, I'm not "Dad" but, I have 30 years experience with racing these type cars
here in the midwest (northern KY, Ohio & Indiana) the cars with the present chassis dim.
for upright cabs have always been called "Mini Sprints" fans, promoters & racers knew what they were. they were powered by 600, 1,000 or 1,200 motorcycle engines.
What has happened, is other classes ie: modified midgets, micro's (250, 270's) and sidewinders (all different chassis) decided to call themselves "mini sprints" maybe it makes them sound better, bigger, more appealing, I don't know. next thing you know they may decide to call themselves "Lightning Sprints" and you still have the same problem.
For national rules, I would recommend register copyrights for protection, ie: "Upright Lightning Sprints" or whatever you want to call them to permanently separate yourself from these other classes that may want to tag on again in the future.
I realize this may appear as overkill, but, I agree, something should be done to distinguish between these classes
