The PRA deal isn't a good comparison. They tried to schedule weekday races in order to lure some of the NASCAR boys to help fill up the grandstands. It didn't take long before NASCAR was mandating their drivers to be at there tracks earlier in the week. The PRA was a shoestring operation and they needed some backers with money to make this happen. That never materialized and USAC hired Jason Smith & Jason McCord, the two principals in PRA, so that ended that experiment.
I attended some of the shows and they put on some decent racing. Good car counts and if they could of survived and built upon what they started, it might have worked. However, they needed a lot more sponsors, advertising and butts in the seats in order for that to happen. All things that money can help fix. A one year deal that went by the wayside.
