First of all thank you to all that came to WRP. Those of you that were there for the first time I hope you enjoyed the program. I also want to thank all of you for your constructive criticism and appreciate that, that is how we get better. I just wanted to take a few moments to explain some things.
1. Our announcer is a young 19 year old IT major (sports announcer at the University of Cincinnati). He has announced at asphalt tracks in the past. He will take a little while to learn the new names and different things about dirt track racing. We actually like the fact that he engages the fans and keeps things lively. He does announce the starting line ups as or before coming on the track. We try to correct him if someone has dropped out but that doesn't always happen.
2. We also have a new flagman (young also) that came from asphalt racing and will catch on quickly. Biggest thing for him to build confidence in himself and that only comes with time in the stand. That is a tougher job that you think especially with the lights.
3. The call with Landon Simon being moved back is my fault and I take full responsibility for it. We have a new lady also running the transponder system and during cautions she writes the running order in numbers (not names) on a paper then I call it out over the raceceiver. What happened is we got the 24 of Tyler Hewitt and the 24 of Landon Simon mixed up (twice). You won't hear this from many people but I'm honest and take full responsibility for it. I sent Landon a personal message letting him know what happened also. If he comes back sometime I will give him some gift certificates to make up for a small portion of his troubles.
4. The call with Landon on the jump for the restart is something that we have always done is it is reviewed in the drivers meeting over and over. The drivers are to remain nose to tail until they pass the flagstand. If any part of their car is beside the car in front of them then that is considered a jump. If they simply jump out of line I do not penalize them as all they are doing is trying to line them selves up for either high or low for turn one. I only penalize them if they are beside the car in front of them. I stay 100% consistent with that. So again if there is a call that you feel strayed away from that feel free to PM me and I will gladly take your constructive criticism....I am human and can and will make mistakes. Anyone that don't think that is fooling themselves lol.
5. We do have a lot of guys that travel and race other places. We are proud of all of our racers. All tracks have those guys that race at their local tracks only and that is fine....we applaud them for even strapping into a 900HP racecar for your entertainment. Keep in mind we have taken a big risk a few years ago and said you know what we are going to be different than other tracks in Ohio....we are going to make non wing racing our premier class. We thank all of you for growing with us and we are always open to your comments.

Thank You,
Danny Kelly
