Actually the Hoosier Hundred wasn't a middle September event, but was run the Saturday after Labor Day, so the date could vary by several days. Back in the day, two things happened the Saturday after Labor Day, the Hoosier Hundred and Bert Parks sang "Here she is, Miss America"!
