I was as impressed by Jacob Wilson as Marv was. Looked like he'd been racing on the high banks for years. Tracy Hines demonstrated, much like he did at Anderson, just how much last year's pavement racing suffered, due to his absence. But, apparently unimpressed by all of that was DD, who snatched the runner-up position away from him, with one lap to go. And how about Chris Windom? Not only did he have a chance of winning this thing, he turned in two of the smoothest fast laps I've ever seen there. You had to have been listening very closely to hear him lift, at all, on either one of those laps. All in all, a great day's racing. Even though I am a dirt fan by far, my year wouldn't be complete without at least one trip (in this case, two) to this historic facility.
Now, I'm ready for a drive, 3 miles southwest, to see the rebirth of another Indiana racing icon!
