Buckeye Machine BOSS Signs Bucky the Beaver
In what was one of the most anticipated moves of the offseason, The Buckeye Machine BOSS Sprints is proud to announce the signing of "Bucky" the Beaver who will now be the new tour mascot. After a tumultuous 2013 for Bucky, he entered free agency in the fall. He quickly began receiving offers from multiple noteworthy organizations and fans across the nation waited patiently Sunday, as Bucky sat down before a large press conference and made his decision.
In the press conference, Bucky stated, "Being a native of Beavercreek, Ohio made me naturally want to be involved with the Buckeye Machine BOSS series. What really closed the deal however, was when I got to see the pond in front of Ray Marshall's Buckeye Machine and Fabrication in Forest, Ohio. I mean, come on, what Beaver wouldn't want to call that home?"
Series president and founder Aaron Fry was extremely pleased and said he felt Bucky made the right decision for everyone involved. Fry stated, "Bucky and his antics will fit right in with the series to tap a market that is sorely overlooked in today's motorsports, the kids." Fry went on to state that Bucky will not only be at BOSS events in 2014, but will also be seen at many other cars shows and many DARF (Dayton Auto Race Fans) events.
In other Buckeye Machine BOSS news, 2014 bonus award sponsors have been secured. We would like to welcome aboard The Bridge Restaurant in Sidney, Ohio who has stepped up to cover the "Hard Charger" $50 cash bonus award in the main event at each race. The $50 "Steel Block Award" given to the highest finisher in each A-Main using a steel engine block will now be covered by Hochstetler Truck and Auto Repair of Ashland, Ohio. Finally, the 2014 "Hard Luck Award" is $50 cash given at each event to the driver voted by series officials to have had the worst racing luck of the night. Coming aboard to cover that bonus for 2014 is Lynn Cook, a racer's friend.
These fine bonus sponsors now in place will go along with heat race sponsors Burdette Builders of Sunman, Indiana and Lias Tire / American Racer of Indiana, Pennsylvania. Combining all this help with series title sponsor Buckeye Machine of Forest, Ohio, the traditional sprint drivers of the Midwest will have something really special to be a part of, including a guaranteed $10,000 points fund among the top 10 at season's end.
The action will kick off on Saturday, May 3rd at the historic Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio with the $5,000 to win "Mike Hensel Memorial". Last season 40 cars representing 7 states and Canada were on hand and Robert Ballou of Rocklin, California took home the win.
