The stock motor formula has really made the class more affordable for a broader range of budgets and really evens the field. In Illinois, most of the front running cars fall in the $6,000-$8,000 range. I'm not saying that's pocket change, but in most other classes, that price range wouldn't even buy a competitive motor.
