I can't speak to each individual team's finances from this area, but the cost of diesel, and where we decide to go racing, is much more of a factor this year than it was last. It's also possible that some of the teams up around Indy didn't want to pay the tow bill either. That's the only reason I can think of for such a small turn out.
And with every other track closed they did not want to take the chance and waste the $$$ towing from W-field or Gas City only to get rained out for the second time that night
