USSA Sprints’ UAW Mechanic of the Year Award on the Line 10/19

There’s more on the line October 19th when the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW returns to Anderson Speedway than the Driver’s Championship. The UAW Mechanic of the Year Award will also be decided by the outcome of the event.

Three crew chiefs are locked in the battle for the Award which includes a $500 check that will be awarded at the USSA Banquet on November 2.

Evan Jackson wrenches the Sam Pierce Chevrolet Beast driven by Aaron Pierce. Jackson has given Pierce a winner three times in 2013. He also takes care of the cars Pierce races in other series.

Kerry Fasig is responsible for Tony Hunt’s UAW/Metalworks Beast Chevrolet. Not only does Fassig commute from California, he is responsible for maintaining the unique stock based LS3 engine the team uses.

Chad Baker, the crew chief for Chris Neunschwander, has provided Neunschwander with a solid ride that showed improvement throughout the season.

The formula for winning the UAW Mechanic of the year Award is simple, The mechanic that helps his driver win the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW Championship wins. Winning the championship demonstrates the same dedication and skill that the men and women of the UAW bring to their jobs everyday.
