Midgets Return To Montpelier Motor Speedway Saturday Night, September 7th For A Busy Month

September will be a busy month for the Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series as the speedway looks to host 3 Midget events during the month of September. Lynsey Liguori became the most recent MMS Midget winner at the August 17th event. Ligori’s win continued a streak that has yet to find a repeat winner in Montpelier Victory Lane during the 2013 season. Darren Hagen, Shane Hollinsworth, Billy Wease, Isaac Chapple, and Lynsey Liguori have won 2013 feature events. Shane Hollingsworth is the only repeat winner in the history of the series and after 12 total events over the past two seasons, the series have found 9 different winners in victory lane (including 2012 winners: Nick Speidel, Michael Koontz, Brandon Matus, and Critter Malone)

With three point’s events remaining, Billy Wease will enter the event as the point’s leader with Blake Edwards, Michael Koontz, and Stratton Briggs all within striking distance of leaving the event as the series point’s leader.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series features full size Midgets and power plants and allows a platform for other engines including Focus, Ecotech, and Motorcycle powered entries to compete utilizing an unlimited weight break and additional tire width. The Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series features an open tire brand and compound rule and has averaged 22+ Midgets per event. Tony Rose and American Racer racing tires are the presenting trophy sponsor for the series.
