Some of my earliest memories were from dirt tracks all over the country and after going to The Kings Royal a few weeks back I have to make a sprint car. I would love to go racing but I travel a lot for work, have kids, all of that good stuff.

I'm in Indiana so I shouldn't have too many issues with the DMV. My dad knows someone in Kokomo who build one for the street as well.

I have to start somewhere so I'm starting with the frame. There are several manufactures and after reading for classified section I have a few questions about 86/40, wide body and so on.

What exactly is a 86/40, wide body and so on. Any recommendations on what frame will be easiest to work with. My only real requirement is I want to build a winged sprint (they are the greatest looking race car this side of Europe).

The only part I see as being an issue is the massive offset of the rear wheel you guys run.

Please no hate messages. I like winter garage projects and the projects allow me to teach my boys about racing, engineering and electronics.
