Racing is a "SPORT". As a sport it is supposed to be enjoyable weather you are winning or loosing. When you loose and are working on a come back, if you are having fun doing it and look forward to the next race to see if you have made any improvements it's as good as it gets.
Racing like drugs is also addictive, because you are always looking for that next win or even that first win and when it happens like that old song "that is all their is".
I have seen drivers get out of a faster class car and refuse to take a seat in a slower class car because that would be beneath their standing as a race driver. I got news for you a real racer will race anything they can get their butt strapped into.
When racing stops being fun or when you have to win at all costs to be happy then it's time to retire and find a new "SPORT", you know like making money.
Some of us suffer injuries that prevent us from competing on the level we are accustomed to or may endanger our future, this is also a good time to look for fun in other areas.
When it stops being fun I want to learn how to drink champagne and fly a "Hot Air Balloon".
